i think when programmers try TIS-100, they find it difficult because the language is intentionally hamstrung to make it a good puzzle game, and then they just assume that cus THEY find it difficult there isn't even a hope for non programmers to enjoy it. but that hamstrung language is part of the reason i found it quite approachable, i mean, as approachable as any difficult puzzle game. like you just gotta read the manual like five times, confirm that the program barely knows the values of the numbers its passing around, and start hacking away with the tools you've been given.
